Fused Glass has been Alysa’s passion ever since she was fourteen years old. Her father is a stained glass artist and was a strong influence in her starting with this medium. Since she began she has been participating in art shows every summer. She has traveled to Wisconsin and Illinois in addition to Michigan to exhibit her art. Alysa has experienced more than fifty art fairs and festivals. Currently, one can find her art in the East Ludington Gallery in Escanaba, Vertin Gallery in Calumet, and Triptophonic Studios in King, Wisconsin.
Alysa graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree from Northern Michigan University on April 30, 2011 as a Marketing student. She knew that it would be a great addition to her skill set and help her promote her art. In the future she would like to open her own art gallery that would not only feature her own art, but also feature art of young, aspiring artists like herself.
Artist Statement
I began working with fused glass when I was fourteen. Through learning the technical process, I have been able to experiment with the medium. Making a variety of products, I am able to pursue several venues and have a broad range of customers. A large portion of my work revolves around the concept of functional beauty. I believe that everyday people go through life using many products, and I work to make sure those products are both useable and visually attractive.
